Description

Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will learn everything they need to know to have a successful beginning in Kindergarten from a real kindergarten teacher!  We will cover letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and practice fine motor skills.  Most importantly, your child will have many opportunities to socialize, make friends and practice valuable social skills such as following directions and taking turns. 

This course is perfect for those at the preschool age that are preparing for kindergarten...

This class is taught in English.

Students will be learning...

Reading:
Letter identification (A-Z)
Letter sounds (A-Z)
Letter formation (A-Z)
Pre Primer (pre-k) sight words (40)

Math: 
Number identification/representation (1-20)
Number sequence/counting (1-20)
Number formation (1-20)
one to one correspondence
simple patterns 
sorting and classifying 
simple comparisons
recognizing 2D shapes

I have been a kindergarten teacher for 12 years and can help your child with exactly what they need to know to become successful learners!

There is no homework in this course, but I will attach additional files to be used an enrichment and practice for your learner.

CLASS SUPPLIES:
*These are HIGHLY recommended to get the full benefit of the course, but not required*

- whiteboard & dry erase marker (or sheet of paper & writing utensil)
- counters (mini erasers, beans, small toys, etc.)
- colored paper plate with some salt or sugar (to use as a sand tray)
- alphabet mini poster (provided resource--make sure to download)
- letter mini poster (provided resource--make sure to download)
- math ten frame (provided resource--make sure to download)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
