Description
Class Experience
Children who have higher levels of phonological awareness (awareness of the sounds in words) are typically stronger decoders when they begin to read. In this class students will engage in activities to develop phonemic awareness, learn all about CVC words, master short vowels and short vowel word families, learn beginning and ending digraphs, as well as long vowel sounds. During each class they will learn a different phonics skill and practice using that skill in order to read and write...
Learn letter sounds to be able to read and write.
I love teaching children how to read and write! I have a master's degree from the School of Education at Northwestern University and a certificate to teach English as a foreign language from Georgetown University. I was a kindergarten and first grade teacher at an international school, and recently started my own literacy program called Whiz Kids International. I look forward to helping your children develop their reading and writing skills!
Children are provided with digital phonics activities after each class to practice the skills at home.
