US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this ONGOING course, learners will complete 20 different interactive activities (each week), reviewing foundational math skills at the Kindergarten level. ***This course will review many math skills needed before entering 1st grade and runs on a 5 week content cycle. After week 5, the lessons will start over and repeat, starting over from the 1st week of the 5 week cycle. The content, in each week's slides, does not build on the previous week, therefore learners may join or cancel at any time (****however, to receive the most benefit from the bootcamp, it would be most beneficial to join for the 5 week cycle, since the content changes over the 5 weeks****). Learners may also benefit from repeating the cycle, if parents are interested in additional practice. ⭐️USE COUPON CODE: STACE2RL6F2 (for new learners)⭐️ 🔢👩🏻🏫****Week #1: -Number sequencing: 4,5,6,_,_ -Counting objects-hearts (5) 1:1 correspondence -Count it Out!- show the quantity to match the #3 -Using Ten Frames (7) -Which is More? 5 clowns/8 clovers -Which is Less? 4 acorns/5 apples -Compare Numerals: 6 & 8 (smaller) -Measure It!- Use the cubes to measure (pencil) -Compare Objects: Which is taller? girl/dog -Classify-count object & graph -Algebraic thinking- represent addition & subtraction using equations -Word Problems- create an equation using hands/fingers -Decomposing numbers- 5= _+_ -Making 10: 5+_= 10 -Addition Fluency: 1+3 0+5 -Position Words: 'in' (in the jar) -Shape Identification: circle, heart -Sorting 2-d and 3-d Shapes: triangle, pyramid, cone, pentagonal prism -Describe Shapes: rectangle (4 sides, 4 vertices/points) -Base Ten: make the number 12 with base ten blocks 🔢👩🏻🏫****Week #2: -Number sequencing: 8,9,10,_,_ -Counting objects: (8) 1:1 correspondence -Count it Out!- show the quantity to match the #5 -Using Ten Frames (10) -Which is More? 5 ants/8 basketballs -Which is Less? 4 bees/5 bears -Compare Numerals: 3 & 2 (smaller) -Measure It!- Use the cubes to measure (carrot) -Compare Objects: Which is taller? door/donut -Classify-count object & graph -Algebraic thinking- represent addition & subtraction using equations -Word Problems- create an equation using hands/fingers -Decomposing numbers- 7= _+_ -Making 10: 10=3+_ -Addition Fluency: 2+1 7+2 -Position Words: 'in' (above the jar) -Shape Identification: diamond, octagon -Sorting 2-d and 3-d Shapes: square, triangle, sphere, triangular prism -Describe Shapes: square (4 sides, 4 vertices/points)-equal sides -Base Ten: make the number 11 with base ten blocks 🔢👩🏻🏫****Week #3: -Number sequencing: 13,14,15,_,_ -Counting objects: (11) 1:1 correspondence -Count it Out!- show the quantity to match the #8 -Using Ten Frames (16) -Which is More? 12 carrots/9 muffins -Which is Less? 10 bones/9 muffins -Compare Numerals: 4 and 8 (smaller) -Measure It!- Use the cubes to measure (bone) -Compare Objects: Which is taller? barn/car -Classify-count objects & graph -Algebraic thinking- represent addition & subtraction using equations -Word Problems- create an equation using hands/fingers -Decomposing numbers- 4= _+_ hearts -Making 10: 10=2+_ -Addition Fluency: 9+0 6+4 -Position Words: 'beside' (beside the jar) -Shape Identification: circle, trapezoid -Sorting 2-d and 3-d Shapes: oval, pentagon, cone, cube -Describe Shapes: pentagon (5 sides, 5 vertices/points) -Base Ten: make the number 14 with base ten blocks 🔢👩🏻🏫****Week #4: -Number sequencing: 19, 20, 21,_,_ -Counting objects: (16) 1:1 correspondence -Count it Out!- show the quantity to match the #13 -Using Ten Frames (9) -Which is More? 14 acorns/16 buttons -Which is Less? 17 bees/9 beach balls -Compare Numerals: 9 and 10 (smaller) -Measure It!- Use the cubes to measure (crayon) -Compare Objects: Which is taller? elephant/egg -Classify-count objects & graph -Algebraic thinking- represent addition & subtraction using equations -Word Problems- create an equation using hands/fingers -Decomposing numbers- 9= 3+6 -Making 10: 10=3+_ -Addition Fluency: 4+1 3+2 -Position Words: 'in front of' -Shape Identification: star, rhombus -Sorting 2-d and 3-d Shapes: square, oval/ rectangular prism, octahedron -Describe Shapes: triangle (3 sides, 3 vertices/points) -Base Ten: make the number 17 with base ten blocks 🔢👩🏻🏫****Week #5: -Number sequencing: 22, 23, 24,_,_ -Counting objects: (20) 1:1 correspondence -Count it Out!- show the quantity to match the #22 -Using Ten Frames (20) -Which is More? 20 rainbows/15 paw prints -Which is Less? 20 blue fish / 15 green fish -Compare Numerals: 7 and 2 (smaller) -Measure It!- Use the cubes to measure (fish) -Compare Objects: Which is taller? hand/leg -Classify-count objects & graph -Algebraic thinking- represent addition & subtraction using equations -Word Problems- create an equation using hands/fingers -Decomposing numbers: 4= _+_ -Making 10: 10=6+_ -Addition Fluency: 2+2 7+1 -Position Words: 'next to' -Shape Identification: diamond, square -Sorting 2-d and 3-d Shapes: triangle, cone, trapezoid, triangular prism -Describe Shapes: hexagon (6 sides, 6 vertices/points) -Base Ten: make the number 19 with base ten blocks ***AFTER the week #5, the content will repeat the above cycle.*** ***Please note that is my intention to review all of the 20 slides during each meeting, however this will be dependent upon the rate at which we move in class. If extra time is needed on any particular slide/activity, it may prevent the class from reviewing all 20 slides. I am always willing to stay in the classroom an extra 5 minutes, if necessary.
Learning Goals
Many of the goals that learners will improve upon include: their understanding of numbers and counting, sorting and classifying, measuring and comparing, adding and subtracting, identifying shapes, and graphing.
