Kindergarten Literacy Social Circle (Letter Sounds, CVC)
Join us for an interactive Kindergarten social circle where students will develop reading and phonic skills. This class will also allow students to socialize with fellow peers while they learn foundational methods of reading literacy.

Beginner - Advanced Level
In this class, we introduce letter sounds, phonological awareness, phoneme blending, long and short vowel sounds, with the introduction of VC, CV, and CVC words. I offer a variety of teaching methods such as discussion, slides, and games. When working with younger groups, breaking down the barrier between student and teacher is very important to me in an online learning environment. In this class, I try to reduce screen sharing time as much as possible so learners can see me more, and I am able to see them! I often use my handheld whiteboard, flashcards, and letter board for most activities. Learners will have the opportunity to share out loud and answer questions. During games, I try to be as student led as possible where students get to lead games with peers (please note this is dependent on student enrollment.)

Parental Guidance
All course content is written by me and will be appropriate for this specific age group. Students will not have to use any websites during class.
Pre-Requisites
Please make sure your child knows how to mute/unmute their mic, and turn their camera on.
Supply List
Please have a pencil, paper, and a whiteboard with marker ready for class. Any printed worksheets related and needed during class will be shared prior to class time.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have several years of experience working in the classroom and online as an educator. I have a Bachelors degree in English as well as an Early Childhood Education Associates degree. I have specialized in working with Elementary aged children as a reading tutor focusing on phonics, comprehension, fluency, and letter/sound recognition. My experience has also stemmed towards working with high school aged students with developmental disabilities ranging from ADHD, Autism, and Cerebral Palsy. I have spent a great deal of time working as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher teaching subjects such as ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies concepts. Reviews
