Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Welcome families! This is an ongoing class where your child will learn about all the areas covered in kindergarten. The class is taught by a certified elementary school teacher with 11 years of experience. I have taught 3rd grade for 1 year, 1st grade for 2 years, and kindergarten for 8 years. However, kindergarten is where my heart lies!

Each class will start with an upbeat song, followed by morning greetings and sharing time for each student. We will then explore the calendar and start our learning for the day. This ongoing, full curriculum kindergarten class will mainly focus on math and literacy. Here are some of the topics we will cover:
Math: calendar terms, patterns, shapes, number recognition, counting, greater than/less than, addition/subtraction, composing/decomposing, measurement, time, and more!
Literacy: sight words, reading comprehension, phonics, rhyming, CVC words, CVCe words, reading on our own, and more!

The class will be engaging, upbeat, and full of learning. I am a calm and patient teacher who strives to meet the needs of all learners. Therefore, each week will have a "main topic," but the needs of students will come first.

This class is ongoing, and you can enroll your child at any time, even if they have not attended previous classes. Printable materials will be provided each week, so please have them ready.

I look forward to meeting your learner!
