In this ongoing club students beginner readers will practice their Reading, Grammar, & Writing skills. Each class the student will be introduced to a new story or activity. Some of the topics that we will focus on includes but not limited to consonant blends, silent-e words, and common digraphs. There will be interactive reading and writing exercises. There will also be reading comprehension practice. This is a great class for emerging readers in Kindergarten to First Grade. 1. Students will begin class by introducing themselves (if the student is comfortable). 2. Students will go over the class rules with the teacher. 3. Students will focus on the story or activity of the week. 4. Students will practice identifying sight words. 5. Students will write short sentences based on the topic of the week. * Please note this is an ongoing class and students may enroll or unenroll at any time. Hello!!! My name is Tracie Rivers and I'm so excited to meet you.
Your child will have lots of fun and plenty of activities to do in my classroom. Through these activities they will be able to grasp various concepts and have enjoy doing it. I teach a variety of classes for students between the ages of 5-7. I teach classes about phonics, reading and writing. I am a firm believer that once you start to read the world will be more exciting. You will be able to learn new things and go on exciting journeys.
All students have the ability to learn. Once the learning style of the student has been identified, learning will be more enjoyable. It's so exciting to see a student grasp a new concept. It's one of the most rewarding things to see.
I have been a tutor and online teacher for about 5 years. I served 8 years in the Army and it taught me a lot about discipline and motivation. After serving in the military, I was motivated to go back to school and finish my MBA.
After graduating with my MBA, I began to take on part time positions teaching online students in China and tutoring students locally. I have always had a passion for working with children. I was a struggling reader in Elementary school. I had an amazing teacher who took the time to help me with phonics and reading comprehension. I will forever be grateful to her for taking the time to help open up the world to me through books. I want to help share my passion by helping young readers learn and understand how fun and exciting reading can be.
