US Grade Kindergarten
Students will learn through demonstration and discussion, songs, puppets, and movement games. Photographs, stories, and natural artifacts will be shared, live program animals introduced regularly, a suggested craft or science experiment included, and supplementary learning materials provided. Weekly topics are listed below for the next new section, January through March, 2024: January 17: Seeds and Plants January 24: Mushrooms January 31: Insects and Spiders February 7: What's Under a Log? February 14: Fish February 21: Frogs and Salamanders February 28: Snakes and Lizards March 6: Turtles and Crocodilians March 13: Birds March 20: Mammals The following Nature Explorers animals may occasionally make live appearances: Scaly: the Corn Snake Slimy: the Tiger Salamander Lizzie: The Leopard Gecko Classes may run up to five minutes over the scheduled time depending on learner discussion and questions.
Learning Goals
Students will understand natural cycles and how they relate to each other, how animal and plant groups are classified by their characteristics, and how they are connected.

Supply List
Curriculum materials will be provided in the classroom discussion the weekend before class starts. There will occasionally be documents to be printed and crafts that require basic art supplies such as paper, coloring utensils, scissors, yarn, and a hole punch.
