In this class, we will get our morning going with a song. We will then complete our daily calendar. This includes exploring the days of the week and the months of the year. Children will learn a variety of ways to identify the month of the year. We will practice the days of the week while also practicing sequencing as we talk about the current day as well as what comes before and after. We will then learn how to correctly identify the full date using the day of the week, the month of the year, and the numerical day. Following this, we explore the weather all over the world. Each student will have the opportunity to share what the weather is like in their area and it will be recorded on the chart. We will learn how to read the weather chart correctly and answer questions regarding which weather is represented the greatest/least. This is followed by a number of the day where students will practice numbers, sequencing, and place value. The attention of our young learners is important and we love to engage in movement activities to hold their attention throughout the entire class. These activities include songs that get students moving while counting, following directions, and practicing gross motor skills. Once refocused learners will learn and practice a new kindergarten level skill ( the skills can be found below.) Our class is finished off with a story that presents and teaches children a new vocabulary word. The story is followed by a series of comprehension questions and a goodbye song. We explore a variety of combinations of topics for kindergarten learning. These topics include one or more of the following: Skip Counting Shapes Place Value Rhyming Sight Words Letter Blends Time Counting 1-100 Who, What Why, When, How storytelling questions Reading comprehension. In this class, you can be sure that your child will feel right at home from the minute they log in. They will be warmly greeted by name. Students will have multiple opportunities to engage with both the other learners as well as the instructor. Friday's will be show and tell days where everyone will get to bring an item of their own to present to the class as they practice their social skills -
