Description
Class Experience
Learners will -identify and create 2D shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle, hexagon) -identify 3D shapes (cube, cylinder, sphere, cone) -discuss shape attributes -find examples of shapes in their environment -represent numbers with tally marks -increase understanding of place value (ones and tens) -use one-to-one correlation to solve addition and subtraction equations up to 10 -solve hands-on story problems cooperatively
No homework is assigned, but learners are encouraged to continue to practice the math concepts on their own after class.
Please be sure that your learner has the following supplies for each day of camp: M&M's Jellybeans Small pretzel sticks Mini marshmallows Ruler with inches Crayons or colored pencils Whiteboard and dry erase marker OR several blank papers and markers
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment is given. Learners will be given verbal feedback and encouragement throughout class time. Parents are encouraged to message the teacher with any questions about their learner's progress.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
