This course, Show and Tell/ Public Speaking, is designed to help students step out of their comfort zone and become more confident speaking and interacting in a public setting. The course is themed around Show and Tell. Students will bring 3 of their favorite toys from their house and learn how to talk about them in a public setting. We will practice speaking clearly, answering questions from classmates, engaging their audience, and common introductory phrases when beginning a speech. Students will learn the basic principles of public speaking. They will watch the teacher demonstrate this activity and then they will take turns practicing. This class is great for shy and outgoing students. They can encourage one another to speak in a safe, positive environment. Please see the learner supply list for a list of items needed for class. Supply List
Please have students bring 3 different objects from around their home. These can be toys, clothing items, pictures, pets, etc. We will use these items as props for “Show and Tell.”
