Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten
Please be advised that this is an ELA class (English Language Arts) and not an ESL class (English as a Second Language); however many ESL students with a grasp of the alphabet and basic English words thrive in this class. Thank you!

In this ongoing kindergarten and first-grade class, students will join the teacher five days a week (M-F) for a well-rounded language arts curriculum in phonics, sight words, spelling, writing, grammar, & reading comprehension while having a blast! Running on a 30-week cycle (two semesters) year-round, your child can come and go through the entire year as needed. This class is designed for kindergarteners who need to be challenged, and for first graders who need to get caught up.

Each class begins with a short warm-up to get students in the mindset to engage in class in a friendly and fun way, and then the topic of the day will be announced:

💙Monday: Phonics and Sight Words
💙Tuesday: Reading Comprehension
💙Wednesday: Spelling
💙Thursday: Writing Sentences
💙Friday: Grammar

Every lesson is fully engaging and students will be encouraged to participate through fun games, puzzles, and group votes without being put in the spotlight. Students will feel confident by the end of each lesson that they have mastered the day's concepts and goals.
