Class Experience

Let's start adding! If your learner can recognize their numbers and is beginning to count, then this is the class for them! In "Addition With Ms. Katie: Numbers 1-5 (Part 1)" your young student will learn to add these numbers by two methods: 1) We'll introduce the addition concepts for that day's class at the beginning of the lesson by using magnets and manipulatives. 2) We'll use a printed-out worksheet to get some pencil/paper practice.

Your learner is always welcome to bring their own...

In these 4 weeks, your learner will practice and master the 1-5 addition families using manipulatives that they can bring to class, and worksheets.

Hello! I hope to have you join me in my classroom! I have a degree in education and have taught first and second grade, and high school English in a private school. For the last 9 years, I have homeschooled my own children. Mastering the basics of addition is the foundation for a strong future in math. I look forward to working with your learners and helping them to master these early concepts!

There will be no official homework assigned. However, parents are encouraged to print out an extra copy of each worksheet for their student to complete between classes. Occasionally, we may not complete the worksheet during our class time. In those instances, students should finish the problems after class.

A one-page pdf handout will be provided for each class. These pages are required for each lesson.
