Do you want your learners to be global-minded? Let's go around the world and use project-based learning to make sure we remember all we do. This is a great class for a homeschool social studies class that combines art, projects, and fun activities for deep learning. We have spent years teaching history and making sure it is done in a way that is inclusive and decolonized. Each week students will learn about a different country and its people, history, and culture in a way that is engaging and positive. Here is the class structure - Where are we going today? (Learn Map Skills) - History of the country from multiple and inclusive perspectives - Important people of the country - Hands-on Project or activity sheet completion time so students leave with something tangible each week. Here is the week by week breakdown of each class 1. Welcomes and learn map skills 2 Brazil 3. Ontario 4 Great Zimbabwe 5 Japan 6 Spain 7 Australia 8 Antarctica I like to be fun and laid back when teaching and enjoy using slides, discussions, short videos, and interactive games for my learners. Students do not need any previous experience to take this course. Learners will have opportunities to speak during our discussions but we totally understand students who prefer to use the chatbox versus interacting out loud. Included with this course is a Homeschool Social Studies Field Guide; a great way to take notes and have evidence of learning.
