1 hour per week. **Please have all "Learner Supply List" items ready to go before class begins** Immediately following the completion of the class, bakers will clean up their workspace and dishes.Class Experience
Bakers will learn how to read a recipe and bake delicious Red Velvet cupcakes. First, we will read over my favorite recipe for these cupcakes and have a short discussion and answer questions before we move on. I will teach the bakers tips for properly measuring ingredients, making sure all ingredients are well incorporated, how long to preheat the oven, and other cupcake baking basics. While we wait for the deliciousness to finish baking, we will make a smooth cream cheese frosting. After removing the cupcakes from the oven, we will place them on cooling racks to allow them to completely cool. Since the cupcakes will take about 30 minutes to cool, we will not frost them during class time. Please frost and upload a picture as I would love to see the finished product. Enjoy! Yum! Tools: Apron (optional) 2 standard size 12-cup muffin/cupcake pans or 1 standard size 24-cup pan 24 cupcake liners 1 rubber spatula 1 butterknife hand or stand mixer 2 large and 1 medium-size bowl wire whisk liquid measuring cup measuring cups and spoons oven mitts or pot holders 2-3 cooling racks Optional: 12-inch piping bag and a wide-mouth tip of your choice. My favorite is 1M. Ingredients: butter cream cheese confectioners sugar granulated sugar eggs flour cocoa powder baking soda salt vegetable oil white distilled vinegar vanilla extract red liquid food coloring buttermilk or (we can make a substitute with milk and white vinegar)
