Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing baking class, students will meet once a week and learn to bake something new! From chocolate chip cookies, to southern buttermilk biscuits, your child will learn all the ins and outs to baking the BEST desserts and savory treats you have ever had! We will cover some of the science behind baking, different elements that can completely make or break your food, and students will learn valuable cooking skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. I will be baking along...
Students will learn how to make delicious baked goods. Students will learn to safely use kitchen equipment, as well as keeping their workspace clean, and storing their food correctly.
I have been baking and cooking from scratch for years. I have always enjoyed feeding people, and experimenting with exciting new types of food.
Students may have to bake some things outside of class time (I.e. breads that must rise for a long period of time). Other than that, the only homework will be eating all the delicious food!
The ingredient and supply list for the first session will be available immediately upon enrollment. The ingredient and supply list for all other sessions will be posted on the classroom message board after the previous session.
You will be the judge, since you will be tasting all these delicious baked goods!
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Since this is a cooking class, students will be using the oven, stove top, and other kitchen utensils and equipment. Parents must be present in case of accidents or emergencies. Parents may also need to be present if the students need to finish baking their treat outside of class time. Please pay close attention to the ingredient lists posted each week. Let me know if there are any food allergies, and I can let you know if there are any alternatives to those ingredients.
