Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught all kinds of classes in the "Family and Consumer Science" aka Home Ec category for many, many years. This includes Sewing, Culinary Arts, Etiquette, Life Skills, Fashion History and Costume Design. Coming from an ag family, I love to teach the relationship of culinary arts to our agricultural systems, to help students grow a deeper understanding and appreciation for our farmers and ranchers. I am also a student of history! I graduated from Cuesta College studying Liberal Arts and Fashion.

I am a chef and seamstress and have assisted in costuming many theatrical productions. I have taught privately, as well as 10 years for San Luis Obispo County 4-H and 6 years at Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation, where I developed the Creative Enrichment department and curriculum. I have worked with The Pampered Chef for 22 years. I have owned my own business, Home Ec Express, for many years. I have worked on countless pageant and wedding dresses over the years. I hosted a radio program three days a week!

I believe that our young people are seeking more ways to do things for themselves, to learn how to be independent and productive citizens- to learn the life skills that are not being taught any more and have not been passed down in many families. I am here to help! I love to show our youth that "Home Ec" is cool and FUN!

I have two daughters- My eldest lives in Texas and is enjoying being an independent adult. You younger daughter just graduated from high school and lives with me and will be starting beauty college soon! We have two dogs, Tucker and Talula, and they love to give a hand shake for their treats!
