Class experience
US Grade 1 - 4
*** All my classes are available in Spanish upon request *** Learner explores a Christmas inspired astronomy class that is kid-friendly, scientific, and filled with fun and wonder. Ph. D. in Astrophysics - Astrophysics/Astronomy Communicator/Educator/Adjunct at the San Diego University volunteering on a number of community projects that promote a mindful STEAM curriculum. I also homeschool my three children, and I am personally active internationally offering workshops to both children, adults and teachers.
1 file available upon enrollmentAll the materials are optional since the student can make this project later with their parents. During class I will explain how they can build it and we can do it together if time permits. ------------------------------- We will create a home-made planetarium with the Constellation of Orion, the Hunter. Once your learner is enrolled, you can grab the document from the classroom where you will find the list of materials and the pattern for the Orion Constellation. If we do not have time during the class, they can make their planetarium later with their parents. Please note that for the younger students, parents will need to help them make the pinholes on their paper. I do recommend that they also bring a cardboard for making the pinhole without hurting the furniture they are working on. - a pair of scissors - a flashlight (if you do not have one, the one from your phone would work) - Toilet paper tube (or paper towel tube could work too) - a pin (or something to make a pinhole) - a rubber band (or a tape or something that will help keep the paper constellation in place) - a printed copy of the document posted on the classroom.
