In this class, you’ll learn everything you need to know about economics and marketing to get started on your own business. We’ll brainstorm ideas, explore production costs and feasibility, conduct market research, launch production, and market our world-changing products. Your business will be launched before you know it! Entrepreneurs will be provided with forms to organize their business every step of the way. Weekly meetings throughout the process will educate the new business owners on economics concepts and marketing strategies. Entrepreneurs will support each other in building amazing, booming businesses. I can’t wait to see the marvelous business ideas you come up with! Each week, we will work on building our businesses from the ground up. Economics concepts will be woven into each lesson and used to make smart business decisions. Week 1: Introduction (Goods and Services) Week 2: Deciding What to Produce (Producers and Consumers, Criteria, Risk) Week 3: Deciding How Many to Produce (Demand, Market Survey, Price) Week 4: Organizing and Financing the Business (Money, Loans, Forms of Business Ownership) Week 5: Production (Human Capital, Job Qualifications, Specialization) Week 6: Marketing (Advertising, Demand, Specialization) Week 7: Selling the Product (Cost, Profit, Sales Revenue) Week 8: Celebration! Computing Profits, Reflections, and Next Steps (Give, Save, Invest)

Parental Guidance
Students will be given multiple options for sharing their business including flyers, word-of-mouth, and social media. Any social media (Facebook, Instagram, NextDoor App) used will be with both parent permission and partnership. These are NOT required. Student also have the option of creating electronic order forms using Google Forms which will require a Google account. This is also not required. (Parents will receive information prior to classes mentioning these options to decide if they would like their learner to use them or not. There are always multiple options given, so no one has to use an application with which they are not comfortable.)
Supply List
Forms will be provided during each phase of the process. *Families will be responsible for acquiring the materials needed to create the products and will need to decide on how much they are willing to spend. This will be addressed during the production costs and feasibility stage. We will be sure to have family approval before moving forward with business ideas.
