Kid Tourist Virtual Field Trips: Geography, Flags, & Countries Around the World

In this ongoing class, learners will get to explore the world and learn more about other countries and cultures. Each week, we focus on a new country, the geography, and the flag. Students will be given the opportunity to share what they already know about the focus country so they may also learn from each other. 

Students will build map reading skills, knowledge about countries of the world, and the opportunity to learn from each other and teach others what they know. This class provides students with the building blocks to form a global perspective.

During each class, we will find the country on a map and use this information to discover the geography of the country. We will discuss the kind of landforms found there, the weather, the capital city, the language spoken, special animals, and any other notable aspects or landmarks. Learners will be shown photos and short video clips of these features to create an immersive experience and support visual learning. For the last 5 minutes of class, students will draw the country's flag and show off their work to each other. 

Materials: Students will draw the focus country's flag each week, so please bring a piece of paper and something to draw and color with to class.
