Kickboxing Exercise Class: Intro to Muay Thai (One Time)

Students will learn Muay Thai (includes aspects of boxing and kickboxing) and practice performing striking combinations. Beginner friendly! Great workout for your cardio and fitness. Muay Thai is used by many mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters in combination with boxing. If you've done karate before, you will love Muay Thai.

Class Experience

Students will learn the basic Muay Thai stance and will know how to throw basic strikes as well as defensive techniques. Different striking combinations will be taught each class. We will also learn basic Thai phrases for greeting and showing thanks.
I lived and trained in Thailand for several months and I am a continuing student of Muay Thai. Always learning! I taught multiple virtual Muay Thai summer camps for El Paso Independent School District last year. I am a public high school science teacher and have experience being a head wrestling coach.
There is no homework for this course.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive feedback on their technique in real time from the instructor.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental supervision is recommended for students with respiratory problems or physical disabilities. Students will need water, workout clothing (no jeans or skirts) and an open space where they can move around and throw kicks/punches. Indoors/outdoors is fine. Preferably barefoot but if students only have an outdoor space to exercise, shoes are OK. Stretching is recommended beforehand.
