Hello Ninjas! If your ready to have fun and work hard in a super exciting action packed martial arts class, I can't wait to meet you! In this class we will be working on age appropriate self defense and anti-bullying techniques through the styles of Karate, Brazilian Jujitsu, Israeli Self Defense, and Tae Kwon Do. This class is perfect for the beginners through advanced students, and lessons encourage children to work at their own pace and focus on doing their best. Character development will be encouraged through teacher directed "floor chats." Each class will be organized as follows:
Week One Lesson
Warm up
STAR Blocks
Follow the Black Belt - Blocks
Front Kicks and Jump Kicks
Safety Chat - "Bad guys," who are they, what should you do if you are approached by one?
Ninja Races using our blocks and kicks
Optional Homework: 1.Create a combination with blocks and front kicks to show off in the next class!
Week Two Lesson
Warm up
STAR Block Variations - torpedo punch, "windshield wipers"
Side Kicks - turning and flying side kicks
Safety Chat- What should you do if your lost?
Target Practice
Optional Homework: 1. Memorize your address, your parent's phone numbers, and their full names.
2. Speed drill - practice kicking fast and see how may kicks you can do in a minute!
Week Three Lesson
Warm up
Self Defense Strikes - punches, palm heel strikes, front kicks
Self Defense - Wrist Grabs
Safety Chat - Can you say no to an adult?
Nunchuku Demonstration and Instruction on making paper nunchukus for final class!
Optional Homework: 1. Make paper nunchukus
Week Four Lesson
Warm up
Nunchuku strikes and blocks
Ninja Kicks - review of all kicks taught in course
Super Ninja Course - incorporating nunchukus and board breaking into an obstacle courseLearning Goals

Parental Guidance
Floor chats will incorporate the following ideas:
"Bad Guys" - anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable, including friends, family, people we know and people we don't know. When approached by "bad guys" we use our words and let an adult know right away. We only use martial arts for good, and only in self defense.
"Can you say no to an adult?" Yes, anyone who asks you to do something that makes you uncomfortable you have a right to stand up for yourself. Use your words, tell an adult, keep telling until someone listens to you.
Parents should monitor student during class to ensure all safety precautions are taken.
Supply List
Please wear comfortable clothes for each class. An open area where students can move about freely is also helpful so that the student is safe.
