Class Experience

In this class, we will be covering all of the material necessary to move from Kempo Karate Purple Belt to Kempo Karate Blue Belt. The material consists of combinations 8 and 18, our 8 point blocks with opposite closed handed counter strikes, low-high, heavy-hammer, swinging-hammer, and dropping-elbow kempo techniques . Our classes will begin with 3-5 minutes of calisthenics, the 1-2 minutes of stretching, followed by 10-15 minutes of practicing our combinations and blocks, and the last 10 minutes we will work on learning our 1 pinion and miscellaneous fighting techniques. I like to keep the students engaged by doing all of the moves with students and then checking everyone's work individually. I make sure to give every child the same amount of attention during each lesson, I want to make sure everyone gets a fair amount of one-on-one time with me so that I could answer any questions they may have about martial arts. We ask that learners first take our white, yellow, and orange belt classes, or have completed a Kempo Orange belt with a Kempo Karate school. All of the moves being taught in this class could be challenging, so I ask that everyone participating in this class be patient and just have fun learning martial arts. We will be covering the briefly in every class but I do ask that students practice the moves on their own time so that they could fully understand what they are doing. I advise using grippy socks or bare-feet during class to limit slipping while practicing our karate techniques. Students should have a fair amount of open space while taking class to make sure they do not injure themselves on furniture or anything else.
