Keeping a home, building a schedule and life skills such as these are a necessary skill in life. In this FLEX class, we will learn how to do all this and more. A perfect addition for home economics in homeschooling.

Introductions and What to Expect
Welcome to Home Economics! In our first week of class, we will do an introduction assignment and go over what to expect in our lessons.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Icebreakers & Effective Communication
Communication is an important part of life no matter what age you are, however as you grow older you will find that there are many means of communication and the greatest of these is simply listening.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Making a Home
This week, we will discuss the ins and outs of getting an apartment and making your new home yours.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Laundry & All That Comes With It
In our first set of 2 lessons on laundry we will go over how to sort your clothes, operate washers and dryers as well as different soaps to use.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Folding Clothes, Ironing and Organization
In our second part of laundry we will finish up with folding, ironing, steaming and organizing clothing.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Hand Sewing & Creating a Kit
In this week's lesson, we will go over hand sewing using different stitches, as well as button sewing.

Budgets & Money
This week features a lengthier lesson as we discuss the importance of creating a budget and working with our money.

Planning Your Time
Utilizing a planner is something I'm sure you've heard of before. This week we will discuss the various parts of planning as well as the multiple versions of planners available.

Making appointments as you get older will be your responsibility. This week we will work from making the phone call to filling out paperwork.

Let's Get Cleaning Part 1: Kitchens
This week begins our cleaning series as we discuss the various parts of cleaning a kitchen, ranging from surface cleaning to deep cleaning.

Let's Get Cleaning Part 2: Bathrooms
As we continue our lessons on cleaning, we will venture into the dreaded bathroom and discuss the various aspects of sanitation and cleaning that need to be done and maintained.

Let's Get Cleaning Part 3: Living Area & Bedrooms
In part three of our cleaning series, we will go over what is needed when cleaning and keeping living and sleeping areas tidy, including how often we should wash linens.

As we conclude our section on cleaning we will discuss the importance of, how to and how often we should be cleaning floors, rugs and carpets.

Taking our Meal Planning lesson into practice, we will create a series of breakfasts that are great for meal prepping.

Completing our Meal Planning lessons, we will head back to the kitchens to make meal prep lunches, snacks and dinners.

Time to head outside. This week we will talk about reusing food scraps, plant care and planting an indoor and outdoor garden.

Dining Etiquette
In this week's class we will be learning all about dining etiquette including what dress is appropriate, place settings and basic rules.

Must Haves
As we bring our lessons to an end we will go over some must haves for your home including first aid kids, emergency kits and more.

Letters & Thank You Cards
In our final lesson we will go over the ins and outs of mail including writing a thank-you note, letters and sending packages.
Students will learn skills to help them grow as an independent teen and young adult while learning to manage their lives and homes in easy, supportive lessons. 
Homework Offered
Students will be assigned projects that will accompany each lesson. They will have all necessary instruction on Sunday, with the due dates being the following Sunday.
