Description
Class Experience
"Keeper of the Lost Cities" meets delicious treats - YES!!! Join all true Keepers fans as we meet together to create one of The Lost Cities' best creations: Mallowmelt! In Shannon Messenger's Book 1, "Keeper of the Lost Cities," she describes mallowmelt as tasting like "fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies soaked in ice cream and covered in frosting and butterscotch." What's not to love? When you enter the classroom, you'll find the recipe linked in the welcome post. You can print it out...
Ms. Katie *loves* KOTLC and *loves* to bake and EAT sweet treats!
1 file available upon enrollmentThe full recipe can be found linked in the welcome post in the classroom. Here is the list of ingredients your learner will need: 1/2 cup butter 2 cups butterscotch chips (divided) 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 cups miniature marshmallows (divided) 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (divided) 1 14oz can of sweetened & condensed milk (Some prefer to use unsweetened condensed milk. This will depend on your *sweetness* preference.)
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is always recommended for baking/cooking classes as your learners may use kitchen tools and appliances such as the oven/stovetop, electric mixers, food processors, choppers, and knives. Also, please be available to help your learner as necessary while they are putting their dish into the oven and taking it out of the oven.
