Help children to build good habits by keeping active, no matter what type of exercise they choose. In this class, we will learn a variety of dance moves. The focus of the class is to help create healthy fitness habits while having fun. We will begin with: -Introductions -Stretching -Fun dance movements (I will guide the student's step by step) -Repetition in moves - Cooldown We will cool down with calming movements and more stretching. There will be a few opening slides and open discussion is always welcome during the class. This is meant to be a fun class to help keep your child stay active. It will be a medium impact class and suitable for beginners as no experience is necessary. No prior knowledge is needed.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to stay active with simple fitness movements while having fun dancing. Learning to follow the teacher step by step during the dance routine can also help with memorization skills.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students should have plenty of space to dance in. They should wear comfortable, loose clothing. It is also preferred that they wear dance shoes or sneakers. Please bring water to drink.

Bachelor's Degree from Guilford College
I am a licensed Zumba Fitness Instructor. Since I was 14 years old, I have been working out. I encourage my six children to stay active as well. I work out in my free time. I love to hula hoop and do yoga. In addition, I am a dancer. I have homeschooled for 20 years and coordinated fitness classes in an educational co-op. At least 4 days a week, I go walking with my younger sons. Staying active is very important to me.
