Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 3
Halloween and drawing are two of my favorite things so I hope you’ll join me to learn how to draw three Halloween characters Kawaii style!

We’ll have seven Kawaii characters to choose from: Ghostie Girl, Pumpkin the Pirate , Cutie Halloween Cat, Busy Bat, Sweet Spider, Mr. Happy Skull, and Spooky Hat.

Upon enrollment, learners can post in the classroom the three characters they are most interested in and we’ll learn how to draw those with the most votes.

In a relaxed atmosphere, I will demonstrate the basic outline with a split screen. We’ll move on to coloring in our figure to bring it to life! As the “Kawaii Style” originates in Japan, we’ll finish off each drawing by learning what that character might say in Japan and briefly how to write that in Japanese.

Whether we are able to complete a third drawing completely or finish coloring our second will depend on each individual class but we’ll try our best to cover the basics of all three figures chosen.

Learners are gently encouraged but not required to show their drawings during class or to post after as it is so fun to see the personality that each bring to their drawings!

After class, a breakdown of the steps for the three characters chosen as well as the outlines for the Japanese characters will be sent.
Learning Goals
Learners will socialize as they learn the breakdown and essential coloring scheme for three characters and the related Japanese.

Kawaii style is my favorite to draw and pass on to others as it is accessible, fun and easy to put your mark and special flavor on your creation. I love seeing how each drawing is similar yet so different and filled with the personality of each artist!
