Through the guided drawing process, students will learn how to use simple lines and shapes to create popular Halloween characters in Kawaii style (Japanese origin; the term means "cuteness") The four characters we will concentrate on in this class are: a bat, a black cat, a spider, and a skeleton. As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Paper Pencil, eraser, sharpener Black marker for outlining drawings (I recommend a Sharpie pen or Micron .5 pen or similar, but anything works!) For coloring, choice of colored pencils, crayons or markers.
