Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of Kihon (basics), Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring).
I will teach a variety of movements Kihon (basics), Kata (sequences), Kumite (sparring drills), self defence applications and also fun games based drills. I have 21 years experience in Shotokan Karate, of these years I have taught for 17 years and ran my own school for 6 years. I am a 5th dan black belt, I have various championship wins to my name and am fully insured and DBS qualified instructor. I also had the privilege to train at some of the top dojo's in japan in 2017 on the back of an invite from Shihan Masoe Kagawa 9th Dan (World JKS Chief Instructor 9th Dan). I strongly believe in keeping a good balance in my classes, being able to keep the students engaged and focused in a disciplined way whilst having fun :) I love to travel the world and practice different forms of martial arts on my travels :)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please read the course description for grading information.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The session should be done in loose fitting clothing e.g. t-shirt and bottoms. The student should also train in bare feet. The student should have an open space to move around in. The screen should be clearly positioned, so the instructor can see the student and offer guidance.
