This is a beginning Kalimba class where students will learn how to read and understand music, as well as play the Kalimba. This class will introduce students to musical terms, note names and how to count music. This is a great once a week course to help your learner realize their love of music and truly enjoy playing. May 2nd (Week 1): Basics of Kalimba, tuning and common patterns May 9th (Week 2): Scales and warm-ups May 16th (Week 3): First songs! May 23rd (Week 4): Introduction to chords May 30th (Week 5): Playing a melody with chords
Learning Goals
Students will be able to play one line melodies, chords and common patterns on the Kalimba. Students will understand the basics of the instrument including it's culture and how to take care of/tune the instrument.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from Moravian College
As a music education major, Miss Sarah has both her bachelors and masters in music and education. Miss Sarah spent 3 semesters studying cultural music and instrumentation.
