*This class meets Every Other Week. You will not be charged weekly, but only for the weeks when class is scheduled, which is every other week. *This is not a directed drawing class. Please read the description in its entirety to see how art/drawing is incorporated each week* In my house, we are Godzilla superfans! Are you a Godzilla superfan, too? Join Kaiju Club! We will talk about Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, and the many many other kaiju monsters and the films and storylines in which they appear. This is a relaxed, student-led social club for learners who share an interest in all-things kaiju with a dash of art (film is art!) on the side. Each week will begin with Kaiju News: a time for sharing anything new you learned or acquired throughout the week or any artwork you made regarding kaiju. Then, we will focus on our kaiju topic for discussion. Each group will decide together about the topic for the following week. Although this is not a directed drawing class, learners are welcome to draw, build, or otherwise create about the topics we are discussing on their own during class with time to share at the end. Some learners like to draw and build while we talk and others prefer to just participate in the conversation. Each week will have an optional Art Challenge for learners to complete outside of class and share the following week during Kaiju News. This project is not at all required but just a suggestion on how learners can be creative with a kaiju-theme throughout the week. Sometimes learners like to do the art challenge from the previous week during class and then share at the end. I am excited to hear what you know and what you think about the kaiju-sized topic of kaiju! * This is not a directed drawing class. Learners are welcome to draw or even build with clay or legos while we are talking and are encouraged to share any kaiju related art or projects they may have created throughout the week (videos, comic book panels, drawings, lego builds, etc.)*

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Fort Hays State University
Hello! My name is Rebecca and I LOVE teaching! I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and am in the process of earning my Master of Science in Reading Education. I love creating and adapting my own curricula to make learning engaging and fun for the virtual learner and believe that providing interactive, organized, and thoughtful instruction in a supportive environment can pave the way for even the most hesitant student. It is my philosophy that learning happens in many ways, so, naturally, teaching should, too! My classes incorporate a variety of teaching tools to provide for different learning styles.
