During each class, I will teach a mini lesson on foundational knowledge of breadboarding. Next, the students will play a game of Kahoot to demonstrate their understanding of what they can recall from the lesson. Finally, students will have an opportunity to put that new found knowledge to work as they take part in some hands on activities in which they will actually practice breadboarding themselves. Mr. Haywood is a licensed teacher in the state of Georgia. He currently teaches engineering, robotics, mechatronics and semi-conductors at a public high school. He has been teaching and working with students in various capacities for more than 30 years. He has served as the principal, administrator, social worker, mentor and teacher for several organizations which include Lewis University, Ramsey County and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota as well as a few private and public schools. He has also taught science and math to private school students in Kindergarten through 8th grade for more than 10 years. He currently coaches a robotics team that participates in tournaments on the district, state and national level. He also assists with the teaching of lego robotics to middle school students and his team hosts an annual lego robotics competition every Fall.
Student will need to purchase a simple breadboard starter kit. Here is an example: ELEGOO Upgraded Electronics Fun Kit w/ Power Supply Module, Jumper Wire, Precision Potentiometer, 830 tie-Points Breadboard Compatible with Arduino, STM32
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Teacher will share screen so students can see the questions. Students will need to play on a computer or cell phone. Once the teacher has opened the game, students will receive a code to join. Students will need to enter their name and then they will be able to begin answering questions. There is no need for individual accounts or passwords.
