Class Experience

Annyeonghasaeyo! (Hello!)
For this ongoing class, no dance experience or K-Pop knowledge is required. Please note, the K-Pop in this class relates to Korean Pop, not Kidz Bop!

First things first, we’ll quickly go over quick class rules. We'll start up with a quick K-Pop warm-up and stretches (approx. 4 minutes). I will then teach the moves which will be a combination of typical exercise movements and simple dance moves inspired by the song's original choreography. Once we know all the moves, I will lead the workout in a 'follow me' style . We will then end with a K-Pop cool-down (approx. 4 minutes). Each week will feature 2 girl group songs and 2 boy group songs.

During the workout I will narrate the movements as well as words of encouragement to students. Students do not have to worry about accuracy of moves. It is important that students do not injure or overexert themselves, therefore please follow the parental guidance. If you have any song requests (K-Pop only), please message me and let me know!

Refund policy: If student is unable to attend class, they are able to get a full refund upon request if I'm notified before class or half refund upon request if I'm notified after class, and will have access to the class recording.

Parental Guidance
Due to this being a movement class, please ensure your child has an open space to move in (6ft x 6ft) and ensure there are no objects nearby for potential collisions. Students must wear appropriate attire and footwear for dancing. Please also have water available to drink as needed throughout the class. The class will feature a 4 minute stretching/low intensity warm up and 4 minute stretching cool down, however additional stretching prior/after the class is also encouraged based on the individual's personal needs. Although unlikely, injuries may occur if students do not have enough open space, adequate stretching, or parental supervision during class. Students are welcome to stop at any time if they feel overexerted.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have over 20 years of dance experience where I specialize in street/pop/hip-hop dance. I have been a K-Pop cover dancer for more than 7 years and have taught K-Pop dance classes for over 6 years for a K-Pop dance club that I co-founded where I've taught kids, teens and adults. Throughout this time, I have co-ordinated performances and performed in many UK National K-Pop competitions and Korean culture events. I have also participated in various workshops taught by professional Korean choreographers that have worked in the K-Pop industry.
In my own time, I enjoy keeping active at home using 'at-home' workouts which I have combined with my knowledge of dance and K-Pop to create K-Cardio classes which I have taught to kids and teens for 3 years.
