I received my BA in Spanish in December 2016 from Nazareth College of Rochester NY and had the opportunity to study abroad both in Valencia, Spain for 7 months, and in Cuzco, Peru for one month. From October 2019-March 2020 I traveled to South America to continue my studies of the Spanish language. Although I am not a native Spanish speaker I love speaking Spanish and sharing my love of language with others!
There will be minimal work to do outside of class, however, I highly suggest that families continue to practice the new vocabulary and concepts outside of the classroom. Practicing outside of class will give students the opportunity to relate the class material to their own life and environment which will help cement the language in their brains. Occasionally I will post additional activities for children to do outside of class. These are always optional but highly encouraged!
In this course, students will need minimal supplies. Any worksheets will be posted in the classroom portal before class starts. Information for this class will be presented via google slide presentations and nearpod presentations which I will screen share with students. Students should come to class prepared to speak Spanish, interact with their classmates, and have fun! If there are any additional supplies I will list them in the classroom section before the class begins.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
