Description
Class Experience
This course will use stories to present students with dilemmas to help us explore what is justice. We will start by discussing how to fairly share cake, whether a giant should get bigger slices, how to create a fair competition.... We will then move on to a more historically grounded discussion by briefly studying Rosa Parks. We will finish by asking each child to create a slogan of justice for his/her imaginary kingdom. This class requires no prior knowledge. The class will be based on...
I will provide a handout for students to write their reflections after class.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
When we discuss Rosa Parks, the KKK and its violence is mentioned. Slavery is mentioned to discuss whether and how justice may apply to the past.
