This course is designed to ignite children's interest in writing expressively and journaling in a no-pressure environment.

Description

Class Experience

Students will write various types of products (such as poetry, personal essays, short stories, etc.)
Students will critique and revise writing in a workshop setting.
Students will learn how to use language to express complex concepts.
Students will use literary devices (such as metaphor, analogy, personification, etc.)
Students will generate ideas for writing assignments through various means (brainstorming, journaling, mind-mapping, etc.)
There will be a writing assignment to complete and bring to most classes. Students will read "The Velveteen Rabbit."
You will need to purchase: A blank journal and colorful pens.
