In this class students will look at different inventions that helped us humans get to this point in history today. From when humans started using tools, to us today using the internet to talk with people almost instantly from anywhere in the world. Some of the skills will use in class are creating a timeline, learning fact and opinion, comparing and contrasting, and many more Social Studies skills. In learning about this inventions the students will look at them through many perspectives. Some of the inventions my not have a single inventor and we will explore that as well. Students will interact with myself and other students through discussions, watch video clips, and will be using google slides or PowerPoints at times. February 22 - Fire - It really is not an invention like we may think. It is important in that human live will change with the use of it. March 1 - Agriculture and Domestication of Animals - Some of the inventions in this area will lead to humans to settle down into towns and open a whole new way for humans to live. March 15 - Tools - We will look at how humans started using different tools to help us hunt too how they make everyday living easier. March - 22 - Writing - When did humans learn to write? Students will learn that and about the different materials that have been used in writing. Students will keep track of the inventions and discoveries in a sketch book. Students will sketch a picture of what they learn about and keep notes in a graphic organizer that goes along with the sketch. This is just the starting point. If you are interested in learning how we got to this point in history and what are some of the advances that have helped us along the way, this is the class for you.

In this ongoing class students will look at inventions that have changed the world we live in.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class will talk about military inventions as well as commercial inventions. Such things as gun powder, guns, and other weapons will be discussed.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas. This is my 7th year as a brick and mortar teacher. I have a BA in History from Texas A&M University of Kingsville. I also have numerous hours of professional development that are required to renew my certificate.
