🟢I think it may be useful if learners have seen at least 5 anime before joining. This will allow more conversation and variety of game questions and they won't feel as left out during the meeting! 🟢Another thing to note is that a lot of the popular anime that learners are discussing are rated TV14 and higher. We still talk about these anime because that is what they want to talk about, conversations will be changed when it gets too mature. Here is a "Parents' Guide to Anime" (its short and straight to the point) https://www.rightstufanime.com/post/parents-guide-to-anime 🟢This class will function like a club for tweens and teens to share and interact with each other about something they have a passion for, anime! As a young brown girl, I did not have the opportunity to be among like minded peers about anime, in fact sometimes you were even made fun of because of it. I want to be able to create a safe space where students can be excited about anime and embrace it! This class' success depends on the students and the conversation they create. However, I already have fun activities scheduled to help with conversation for example, guess the anime character, Kahoot, games using the zoom chat, cosplay competitions/cosplay day etc. 🟢We will talk about different topics like: characters, life lessons, similarities between anime, character development, anime worlds … including organic discussions and conversations among the students! Because of this, the discussions and anime that are talked about will be based off of what learners have watched/are watching. 🟢Weekly session Topics Week 1: 12/2 Introductions/How did you get into anime? Week 2: 12/9 Time old debate: subbed vs. dubbed Week 3: 12/16 Share our favorite anime scenes Week 4: 12/23 Anime Trivia (Blooket) 🟢For reference, here is a list of anime that I am most familiar with and would love to discuss in class! 🔸Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, Boruto 🔸 Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood 🔸My Hero Academia 🔸Haikyuu!! 🔸Sword Art Online 🔸Demon Slayer 🔸Fire Force 🔸Attack on Titan 🔸... and more, for a complete list click on this link to view a google doc --- ✔️ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XVP-adtF5caO7SkpGDgmE435jb_jSTRgKimO7z2akbw/edit?usp=sharing

Parental Guidance
There is a large variety of anime, some anime are harmless while others have more mature topics for example violence, profanity etc. Depending on the anime that your learners are watching and want to discuss in each meeting would dictate the meeting. However, for this age group of learners I will do my best to steer the conversations away from extremely mature topics.
