Description
Class Experience
Students will hear, understand and enjoy a variety of high-quality children's literature and participate in informal discussions about the characters and plot.
I have twenty years of classroom teaching experience as well as a Masters's Degree in Library Science. As a parent, I continue to read aloud to my own children daily, even though they can both already read on their own.
There's no homework for this class, but students are always encouraged to seek out books for reading and enjoying on their own!
Learners can choose to have a copy of the book with them to read along, but this is entirely optional.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
These are the titles we will read and enjoy together, but please note that the order may change as we go. I will keep this class listing updated with start dates for the next novel. Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo Holes by Louis Sachar Matilda by Roald Dahl City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
