Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
About the Class:
This is a super fun class that teaches students all about dinosaurs! We will look at the well known and not so well known species of dinosaurs, their characteristics, what they ate, and more.

**Please know this is not an intermediate class. This class is more for students who are diving into dinosaurs but are not experts. Students who are well-read on dinosaurs may get a bit bored with the facts being shared.**

Class 1
We begin with introductions where they share what state/country they live in and their favorite dinosaur. We will then cover 3 main time periods when Dinosaurs lived and some of the well-known favorites we love and some of the not-so-well-known ones. We will have some discussion as well. The first half of class is filled with info for students to learn, videos (including movie clips just so you know) and some questions.

We will end class with each student sharing one cool fact they know about dinosaurs that we did not cover (if they want to). They can also do show and tell with anything dinosaur-related they have. They can bring 1 or 2 dino-related items to class to show us! If we do not finish show and tell we will finish in the final class.

Project: Students will pick a dinosaur from my list at the end of class 1 that we did not cover, and create a fun project around that dinosaur. There are hands-on options and a guide to help you. They will present those in the final class and tell us about their dino. They can create these however they want: paper, poster, on the computer. Please help them put the info in fact form and not a paragraph they are reading. My goal is to get them looking for information and researching things and get to share it in a fun way!

Activity at Home: Students will be sent on a fun scavenger hunt outside and inside that is dinosaur related. I will have them take pictures with or collect items and they can show them and discuss this in the next class.

Class 2
Students will share the facts they found and do their dinosaur presentations at the start of class. After that, we will talk about the dinosaur bones that have been found and see some put together which are really cool to see. We will have some fun discussion on their scavenger hunt and some fun discussion questions I will ask them. We will end the class with fun trivia and videos.

Come join and have some dinosaur fun with me. I love these creatures and hope to share that passion with the students. This camp is fun but gets them outside and gets them doing some hands-on activities.
