Homework
1-2 hours per week. In all Wild About Cooking classes, there IS homework! Students are encouraged to taste test and share their completed recipe with family and friends.

In this four-part FLEX class, students will learn how to make four muffin recipes from scratch to share with family and friends. This class will be a combination of PowerPoint, demonstration, discussion (in the Outschool classroom) and will incorporate video to present the material. In addition to learning new recipes, students will gain confidence and experience in their own kitchen.

At the end of the classes, students will:
-be able to identify between a tablespoon and a teaspoon
-be able to identify four common baking terms
-be able to recall six ways to stay safe in the kitchen
-be able to demonstrate the creation of homemade buttermilk

Students will interact with the teacher and other students by sharing photos and opinions of their completed recipe, will participate in class games, such as Kitchen Bingo, participate in guided discussion and activities each week regarding math and cooking. Students will be expected to comment on classmates' photos and videos.

*A note on how I teach a flexible schedule class:
-In a flexible schedule class, there are class video lessons, discussion questions and activities, posted weekly where students interact with each other within the Outschool classroom. All material will be posted within the platform.
-Students can post videos, copies of their work and or photos and respond to each other. Each class will have a different amount of enrollments, with students from our global community. The amount of interaction between students will vary from class to class.
-As the teacher, I respond mainly by video so that students can hear and see me. Though at times I will respond by a typed answer. I also will respond to every student within 24 hours of their posting.
-For more information on how I teach a flex class there is a video that I created trying to answer the frequently asked questions (http://bit.ly/WhatisFlex).
-At anytime that you do have a question, whether it's when you are considering a flex class or when your learner is enrolled, please do not hesitate to contact me within the Outschool system to ask. I do my best to answer within 24 hours. **

Since my twins were extremely young, they have always been in the kitchen with me cooking and creating. We learned to adapt recipes to fit our dietary needs as one of my daughters was diagnosed with severe food allergies as a toddler
