In this ongoing class junior scientist will conduct one experiment per week. The teacher will lead junior scientist through the steps of the scientific method to make predictions, conduct the experiment, and discuss results. Experiments will include: Week of April 18: cloud dough Week of April 25: egg drop Week of May 2: erupting cranberry juice Week of May 9: melting snowballs Week of May 16: Elephant toothpaste Week of May 23: Fireworks in a jar Week of May 30: No class Week of June 6:...
Week of May 2: 4 clear cups, lemon juice, cranberry juice, water, baking soda Week of May 9: baking soda, water, vinegar, freezer Week of May 16: empty plastic water bottle, hydrogen peroxide, active dry yeast, food coloring, dish soap, warm water Week of May 23: warm water, different colors of food coloring, vegetable oil, mason jar, bowl Wee of June 6: baking soda, vinegar, empty plastic water bottle with small drinking hole, balloon, funnel, grownup assistance Week of June 13: club soda or another clear soda (unopened), raisins, mason jar or tall glass **Substitutions of science supplies may not result in same results**
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some experiments may require adult assistance.
