I'm so excited to share my love of dinosaurs with you! I've been teaching STEAM topics like dinosaurs to preschool through middle school for 7 years through an independent STEAM education company, and I'm really looking forward to connecting with new students here on Outschool. Not only will we be learning about dinosaurs, but we'll sneak in some colors, numbers and math, comparing and contrasting, observation, movement and more--all things that pre-K, kindergartners and 1st graders love to learn and practice!
Homework will be assigned on a weekly basis, but will be optional. Assignments will be used as a way to reinforce lesson material and to allow students to explore the topics in greater detail based on their own interests. Research, drawing, and fact-finding will be incorporated into these assignments, which will be shared and discussed at the beginning of the next class.
Students should provide their own paper, pencil, coloring supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc), playdough or sculpting clay, building blocks such as construction (snap-together)-style bricks, magnetic blocks, or wooden blocks. Dinosaur toys or models are helpful but not required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment but teacher feedback is available upon request.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
