Class experience
US Grade 1 - 3
Dinosaurs are for everyone! In this empowering class, we'll learn about famous dinosaurs, what fossils are and how to dig them up, what the world was like during the time of dinosaurs, and the history of some of the amazing women who contributed to dinosaur science (paleontology). Bring your favorite 18-inch doll, and be ready for adventure! We'll use our imaginations to embark on an adventure around the world to famous dig sites and museums. Along the way, you and your doll will get...
Students will learn through imaginative storytelling and hands-on activities. We will explore the Mesozoic Era, including the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Students will learn about the important scientific contributions of female paleontologists who were once overlooked based on their gender. Students will practice scientific observation and will record their findings through creative, hands-on projects, drawings, crafts and more. Students will practice handcrafting skills, papercraft skills, and will follow directions and use their imaginations to solve creative problems and design their own solutions with the available supplies. Students will engage in meaningful but fun conversations about the science, nature, paleontology, and history.
I'm so excited to share my love of dinosaurs, and embark on this exciting adventure with you! I've been teaching STEAM through fun, engaging topics like these to preschool through middle school for 6 years through an independent STEAM education company, and I'm really looking forward to connecting with new students here on Outschool. Not only will we be learning about dinosaurs, fossils, paleontologists and more--but we'll also get to use our imaginations and include our favorite 18-inch dolls in the fun!
