In this one-time tech class, students will use the Zinnia App to begin to design and create a digital journal. Students will be guided on how to add pages, use templates, and add digital content. Students can either copy example templates as shown by the teacher or develop their own style and layouts. 

Zinnia is a creative and fun way to keep a digital journal, and allows users to add calendars, stickers, planners, notes and much more. Students can use their completed journals to record daily events, thoughts, and ideas by adding text using the onscreen keyboard or writing directly using a stylus, such as the Apple Pencil. Students can continue to add to their design and import photographs and images once the journal templates have been created. 

Students are warmly encouraged to participate in the lesson to help suggest content for their journals, and to share their design ideas with classmates. Students from different world regions will have the opportunity to share how calendars may differ - exploring changes in the seasons and holiday times. The session will close with students considering how best to use their completed journal, either as a reflective journal, notebook, or organizer.
