In this class, young learners will use movement, stories, games, and hands-on activities to explore the exciting world of robots--what are they? How do they learn? What do they do for us? Class ends with an "unplugged" coding activity. #builder

Class experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Students will be able to define what a robot is. Students will understand what makes a robot different from other machines. Students will learn about how robots are used to solve problems. Students will learn how robots are "taught" how to do their jobs by using coding. Students will imagine and create (draw/build/sculpt) a robot that can solve a problem of their choosing and will present it to the class.
I'm so excited to share my love of these exciting adventurers with you! I've been teaching STEAM through fun, engaging topics like these to preschool through middle school for 6 years through an independent STEAM education company, and I'm really looking forward to connecting with new students here on Outschool. Not only will we be learning about robots and what makes them AWESOME--but we'll sneak in some colors, numbers and math, comparing and contrasting, observation, movement and more--all things that preK, kindergartners and 1st graders love to learn and practice!
