Hello! My name is Becky Shepard. I live in Ohio with my husband, Jacob, and my rabbit, Clara. I'm passionate about reading and writing. My other hobbies include playing the piano, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

I'm a certified Middle Childhood Education teacher, grades 4-9, in English Language Arts and Social Studies. I also have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I was a public school teacher for six years and taught grades 4-8. I also have three years of experience in online ESL teaching. I teach English Language Arts classes, primarily focusing on reading and writing strategies.

The main philosophy behind my teaching is that all students are individuals, and everyone learns in their own unique way. It's essential to give my students as much choice as possible, such as what book they want to read or what topic they want to write about.

My communication style with students and families is always positive and encouraging. With my students, I communicate high expectations and strive always to offer encouragement and support. My students must understand that I care about them and want them all to succeed. I must be respectful, patient, and a good listener to all my students.

I'm so excited to get to know you (my students) and your families! I'll see you soon in the classroom!
