In this class, we will read a Junie B. Jones stories each week and discuss literacy elements such as characters and events to build on reading comprehension skills.
Class experience
Welcome Junie B. Jones fans or those who would like try out some of these amazing books! This book club is for us to read and enjoy this wonderful and "full of attitude" funny character and all of the experiences she goes through! Students will have the opportunity to listen to me read, other students read, and even read as well if the student would like to. This class is great for allowing students to match spoken work to written word as they follow along while the book is being read aloud....
Students will practice reading comprehension skills. Students will build vocabulary by connecting spoken word to written word. Students will practice reading fluency through participation during round robin reading. Students will practice social skills through discussion.
I have years of experience teaching literacy skills in the elementary school. I also have a Master's in Reading and have taken many professional development courses to continue my craft in providing effective instruction that helps students achieve goals and become successful learners. More than anything, I am just a person who cares and wants children to feel successful and accomplished.

**This is an ongoing book club. Students can enroll and unenroll as needed. Books usually take 2-3 weeks to complete depending on discussion time and time spent reading by teacher and students. This course is more student-led and progression will depend on time spend reading and discussing each book. Read and discuss “Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus" Read and discuss "Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business" Read and discuss “Junie B. Jones and Her Big Fat Mouth" Read and discuss "Junie B. Jones and Some Sneaky Peeky Spying" Additional books will be listed as we continue through the course.
