US Grade 1
In this 6 week course students will learn and review first grade standards and foundational skills to help keep them learning all summer long. We will have an engaging class that includes songs, opportunities for students to engage in conversation, practice reading, writing and simple math problems and interactive games to help with retention. No experience necessary! This is an ESL friendly class and can be joined at any time. Each student will receive a review workbook. We will use Nearpod to support our learning throughout our sessions. Week 1- Math: 2-Digit Addition Literacy: Word Families Week 2- Math: 2-Digit Subtraction Literacy: Digraphs Week 3- Math: Word Problems Literacy: Blends Week 4- Math: Data and Graphs Literacy: Sight Words Week 5- Math: Money Literacy: Writing Strategies / Short Writing Prompts Week 6- Math: Place Value Literacy: Sequencing of Events

Hi everyone! Welcome to class! I am Miss Kate. I have 15+ years of teaching experience with students ages 2-14 years old. I am passionate about early childhood education and building the foundation for life long learning. My classes will be engaging and focus on a variety of topics including early literacy, early math and life skills. I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and 3 (yes, three) big dogs!
I believe in engaging and playful learning and will teach my classes in a fun and interactive way including songs, digital & interactive games, and lots of interaction and opportunities for engagement.
I am certified to teach K-8 Elementary, K-12 Special Education and Early Childhood Education. In addition, I have a certificate in Child Psychology from Penn Foster, a certificate in Autism Studies from Arizona State University and a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Arizona State University. I love to teach and look forward to meeting your child!
