Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten
Beginner Level
In this ongoing course, I have created a curriculum to help students ready themselves for Kindergarten. We will meet five times a week . Each week we will go over: blending, word families, sight words, beginner reading comprehension, and more. You can jump in at any given week because these classes will not be building each week. What we will cover in each class: • blends • letter sounds • writing • beginners spelling • beginner reading • vowels • word families The class order is as follows: We will begin class with a welcoming song to get warmed up I will introduce our sight word of the week and we will go over our sight word song We will go over blending I will then have the students take out their worksheets, and we will work on our blends, sight words, and writing I will then move on to our beginner's spelling sheet I will teach a short poem to go along with the animal of the day I will go over the letter sound of the day We will then go over word families We will play some review games to help the student retain what they have been taught. We will end with a goodbye song Four-week breakdown: Week one- June 20-24 sight words :( a,do,did,) and the (at) family blends Week two- June 27-July 1 - sight words:( see, look, am) and the (et) family blends Week three- July 4-8 - sight words:( the,to, and) and the (ed) family blends Week four- July 11-15 -sight words: (all, little,go) and the (an) family blends My teaching style is energetic and fun. I will use methods such as songs, poems, flashcards, and games to help the children interact and have a better understanding of the lesson. I have created a worksheet to go with each lesson. When your child enrolls in my class, they will get their worksheets for the week, via email. You can join in at any time. My goal is, by the end of these lessons, your child will find the confidence they need to soar through Kindergarten.
