The main female character is dealing with the recent loss of her mother and finds comfort from three male teenage ghosts who are her love of music. The show has a strong female lead. Julie's experiences in the show express the importance of self-expression and self-acceptance. The people in her life help inspire her to stay true to herself and follow her dreams. This show deals with emotional awareness and concepts like sexual identity and faith in a very honest and realistic way. The show does a great job dealing with tween/teen issues. Music plays an important part in this series and in the lives of the characters.
